Introduction
I have been thinking about this photo shoot for over a year. I have spent literally hours trying to scout out a decent location to shoot this series from. This morning, we woke up to a brutally cold, crisp winter morning - what might be perfect conditions ! So, I thought I would drop by one of my scouted locations and run a test-shoot. I couldn't be happier with the results ! Take a look...
The Photographs
It was about 6:30 AM on a Sunday morning, so traffic on the Deerfoot Trail was sparse. It was easy to shoot & not have cars or trucks in the frame.
Telus Spark (the new Science Centre) is gorgeously lit at night, from insode. The lights change about every five minutes, amking each photograph a little unique.
This is the first of the shots that I have been framing in my mind for quite some time. Telus Spark in the foreground, and the downtown skyline in the background.
I think this is one of my favorites - I love the deep blues & puprles.
Finally, this is cropped to look more like a panorama. It includes more of the city skyline.
Lessons Learned
Patience truly is a virtue. In this series, I had spent a lot of time thinking about the photographs I wanted to capture, the loaction I would need to capture them, and the weather conditions which would best suit the shoot. The three "P"'s of photography are "Planning, Planning, Planning" !
